The Sedalia Auxiliary of the Red Cross began in the home of Clemence Joseph Kahn at 901 W. Broadway Blvd. and S. Prospect Ave Streets in Sedalia, Missouri in 1914, as a women's relief society organization, until 1917 when it started as an official chapter for Pettis County located at the Sedalia courthouse then. Pictured here is the home of Arthur Kahn's brother, Sylvain Kahn, at Broadway and Grand. Arthur and Sylvain Kahn built identical brick homes. Both brothers ran the St. Louis Clothing Co. store in Sedalia. Today, the Clemence and Arthur Kahn home still stands at 901 W. Broadway and Prospect Ave.
