Otto Frederick Rohwedder (1880-1960) was an American inventor and engineer who created the first automatic bread-slicing machine for commercial purposes. By 1927, he created a machine that slices and wraps bread. He sold his first machine to the baker Frank Bench for the Chillicothe Baking Company.
