Christopher added two bowling lanes in 1888 which were complimented by a refreshment stand. Bowlers sometimes played a version of bowling that was referred to as "cocked hat," where only the three corner pins were positioned in the lane for bowlers to knock over. This version of bowling facilitated quicker games and was usually played with a smaller bowling ball that could easily fit in the average-sized hand.
